The Hansraj Morarji Public School was founded in 1939 by the Bai Kabibai and Hansraj Morarji Trust.

School Campus

The school is situated a mile away from Andheri station at the foot of Gilbert Hill and close to Juhu Beach on the Andheri-Versova Road. Occupying about 50 acres of land, the school campus houses the main school building for the senior school, primary and middle school buildings, 2 hostel buildings, a separate block for tiny tots, dispensary, music room, quarters for teachers.

Affiliation

Students are prepared for S.S.C (Secondary Certificate Examination) of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune Divisional Board, now known as the Mumbai Divisional Board. Both English and Gujarati medium streams are provided.

Admission

The school year begins in June. There are two semesters, the first semester stretches from June to October and the second from November to April. The winter vacation is for three weeks duration, the Christmas of about a week while the summer vacation is for about one and half months duration. Admission is open to all boys subject to age limit which is from 5 to 14 years. Day boarders are admitted to the First Standard on the basis of a test cum interview.

Extra Curricular Activities

Hobbies conducted on weekends include art, music, carpentry, flower making, dramatics, Literary Club, Rifle Club, Hiking and Trekking Club, Science and Reading Club, flute, gymnastics and philately. Apart from academic subjects, work experience subjects, namely baking, bookbinding, art and crafts are offered. Co-curricular and cultural activities like elocution, debate, quiz, story essay writing, calligraphy, time and talent programme, Gujarati, Hindi, English and Marathi “nights” are conducted regularly to ensure an all round development of the boys.

Sports Activities

The school has vast play grounds and a swimming pool. Special coaching is arranged in cricket, football, badminton, athletics and gymnastics, while other games like volleyball, basketball are also organized.
