About School

Bhavan's vidyashram, Bhimavarm was started as the first and the foremost project of Bhavan's Bhimavaram Kendra, on an auspicious day of 15th August 1983. Its sponsoring body "The West Godavari Rice Miller's District Welfare Fund society" came forward to provide all physical infrastructural facilities. Under the dynamic leadership and guidance of its founder Chairman(Late) Sri K. Dharma Rao Garu and that of the present Managing Committee, the School developed very fast in physical and academic setting.

Today the School has, besides an academic block, a good hostel with a capacity of 400 accomodating students, staff quarters and playground spread over a large area.

School Campus

The school has a big library and well equipped laboratories to meet the needs of the students. Fully equipped and spacious modern hostel is available for all students admitted in the school. Well-balanced and nutritious “Vegetarian” food is served in the hostel. The Vidyashram takes more care to provide adequate medical facilities.

The school has, besides academic block, a good hostel with capacity of 400 students, staff quarters and play ground spread over a large area. It has all provisions within the campus to meet the daily needs of the children and the best of the academic atmosphere, a school can be proud of.

Affiliation

The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Government of India, New Delhi. with registration No. CBSE/AFF/1338.AP. Dt. 11/06/1985 and follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (NCERT) syllabus.

Admission

Candidates for admission from Classes I to IX sit for a written test and on being considered fit to go into the next level appear for an interview along with their parents/guardians. A Candidate's basic skills in English, Mathematics and Science are evaluated through the written test, as required in the class to which admission is sought.

There is no admission test for LKG and UKG students.

Extra Curricular Activities

Apart from academics, the school lays special emphasis on various co-curricular activities. Provision is made for the following activities that have been given a weightage of few periods a week.

NCC / Scouting / Guiding

The Vidyashram proposes to offer NCC for both boys and girls with three troops in all Army boys, Army girls and Navy and one troop of Road Safety Police. Scouting and Guiding also will be provided for. We give equal opportunity for girl cadets and encourage them to participate in group combined annual training camp

Sports Activities

Children explicit every minute to derive as much joy as possible during their playtime. This enviable wisdom of turning every moment into unbounded happiness is children's natural tendency. However, these lighter moments could be used to teach them healthy attitudes and orderliness necessary in their day today life.

Physical exercises, horse riding, swimming, skating and yoga are regular features of our school's daily activities. To enhance the students' participation our games and sports activities are organized at house level promoting healthy competition. The senior (VI to XII) classes have been vertically divided into four houses and the junior (I to V) classes have been inducted into two houses. Every year we observe national sports day to stress the importance of sports and games. Every year we arrange the coaching camps in Hockey and Basketball with the help extended by the District Sports Authority, Eluru.
