About School

The Army Public School Dagshai nestling atop the Dagshai Hills was the brain child of Lt. Gen K Sunderji PVSM, GOC-in-C, Western Command and Lt. Gen. Ranjit Singh Dayal, PVSM, MVC, COS, Western Command and became a reality on 01st June 1986..

A co-educational residential school, is the first institution of its kind, which was setup by the Army with the specific aim to provide quality education to the children of the Army Personnel.

The APS Dagshai is amongst the best-equipped residential schools in India. The educational objectives and the methodology of teaching are entirely different and it focuses on learner oriented education, value based and with stress on developing life skills, thus giving it a holistic dimension.

Army Public School, Dagshai is affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi and is a member of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (IPSC).

Admission

Admission are on the basis of a written entrance test taken on third Sunday of February at various centers. No child can appear in the test unless he/she has been registered

Extra Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities form an important part of the school curriculum. The school has an Activity Centre. Various clubs meet regularly every week. Work Experience, Art Education and Physical and Health Education programmes are also carried out regularly. Play lets, Dramas and Indian Music, which play an important part in the lives of the students and assist them in developing rhythm, aesthetic appreciation and self-confidence, are also conducted. The school also arranges for the celebrations of all the major festivals.

Inter house competitions namely Debates, Declamations, Extempore, Poem recitation are organised for Junior, Middle and Senior categories on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The students are also sent to district, state and national level competitions.

Sports Activities

Regular games and physical training are compulsory for all the students. The school has a large well-maintained playfield, very rare in the hills. Apart from a well equipped Gymnasium and Athletic Track, infrastructure/facilities are available in the school for Squash, Basketball, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Volleyball, Karate and horse riding.
