About School

The Air Force School (TAFS) is a co-educational public school that provides equal opportunities to both boys and girls. It is situated on the Aravali Ridge amidst picturesque surroundings lined by rows of majestic Eucalyptus and Ashoka trees in the 15 acre area of the school.

We encourage learning by exploration. We have audio visual labs for making teaching and learning processes more effective. We use various teaching technologies including information technology.

In addition to classroom teaching, we have various avenues of learning such as excursions, camps, dramatics, debates, elocution, quiz, group learning etc. We encourage the students to participate in various clubs like Debating Club, Interact Club, Heritage Club, E.V.S. Club, Quiz Club, Rasayan Club and Consumer Awareness Club.

School Campus

The school site, known as Aravali campus, is situated at the Aravali Ridge. The 15 acres campus includes instructional blocks, well equipped laboratories and a SUPW activities complex; a music division, staff quarters and a boarding house. The school sickbay functions under the supervision of a Resident Medical Officer and a Resident Medical Assistant. The medical staff, besides providing medical assistance to the students, conduct annual medical check ups. The school provides ample space for activities and sports.

Admission

Children are normally registered for admission in the month of January for the next academic year. The intake points for admissions are KG and class XI. Vacancies in all other classes are very few and in some cases none at all. These are filled as and when vacancies arise. The minimum age for admission to KG is 4+ as on 1st April of the year of admission. Admissions are made only after the students qualify the Entrance Test and Interview (If considered necessary) provided seats are also available.

Extra Curricular Activities

The boys undergo training in camp craft, first aid, cooking, map and compass practice. There are various hobby clubs and socially useful productive work programmes which develop manual, artistic and technical skills. Each of the four Houses in the Senior Wing presents a concert from time to time, and the school?s Dramatic Society stages a play annually in October. Indian and western music and band, elocution and drama, play a large part in the lives of the boys. The school encourages hobbies and societies and every facility is afforded to ensure that a boy has a variety of interests from which he may choose. In the Senior Wing, the hobbies that are encouraged are art & crafts, model making, photography, wood and lathe work, cybernetics etc.

Sports Activities

Physical Education and Games are a compulsory part of the school curricular . A student will be exempted from participation in games and sports only if recommended by a Medical Officer.The school offers various sports facility basket ball court, hockey field, football. Various indoor games are offered like table tennis, chess. The school organise annual sports day.
