About National Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)
Candidates aspiring for admission to the programme offered by Narsee Monjee Institute Of Management Studies are required to appear for the all India written test, NMAT (National Management Aptitude Test).
NMAT : Programs & Eligibility
Below are listed the programs offered by NMIMS and their eligibility criterias.
MBA : This is a two –year full time programme, spread over six trimesters and leading to the degree in Master of Business Administration. The most notable features of the programme are its flexibility and objectives of providing a genuinely broad based education
Eligibility : 10+2+3 degree in any branch of study or equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU with minimum 50% marks in aggregate at degree level. Work experience in an Executive/ Management Capacity will be preferred.
MBA - Pharm. Management : This course is a general management course concentrating on Pharmaceutical Marketing Strategy, distribution, promotion, pricing, product and promotion -mix.
Eligibility : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) with 50% marks in aggregate in Life Sciences/Pharmacy, Microbiology and bio-tech, bio-chemistry are eligible. Also Post graduates in Sociology/ Psychology/ Economics/ Anthropology are eligible. Two Years Post qualification work experience is preferred.
MBA - Capital Markets : This program of NMIMS is in collaboration with BSE. This is the first program in India with Trading Room (proposed and supported by BSE) facility having Bloomberg and Reuters
Eligibility : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate . Two Years post qualification work experience in the financial sector is preferred.
MBA - Acturial Science : The programme prepares the students for a role in various fields such as Life Insurance, General Insurance, Health Insurance, Re-insurance companies, Pension funds, Consultancy, Investments, Risk Management
Eligibility : Candidates should have attained any of the following Educational Standards:
(i) Bachelors Degree (10+2+3) in Statistics/Mathematics/Engineering/ Economics/ Computer Science/Allied Sciences with Minimum 50% Marks in Aggregate. Two years post qualification work experience will be preferred.
(ii) Graduate or Post Graduate with Mathematical subjects. For this purpose following subjects constitute Mathematical Subjects;
- Mathematics or any of its branches
- Statistics or any of its sub classification such as Mathematical Statistics and Applied Statistics
- Economics
- Computer Science
- Any discipline of Engineering
- Subject in Science such as Physics or its allied branches
(iii) Candidates with graduation/ Post graduation from other disciplines should have passed 10+2 (H.S.C) or equivalent with at least 85% in Mathematics/Statistics.
(iv) Fully qualified members of following professional bodies such as
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)
- The Institute of Cost and Works Accountant of India (ICWAI)
MBA - Global Business : MBA (Global Business) is a six trimester General Management Programme with focus on International Business for developing a competent cadre of Global Managers for International Positions to meet the country's growing requirements in view of an upsurge in Indian MNCs on world centrestage.
Eligibility : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Two Years Post qualification work experience is preferred.
MBA - Retail Managemnt : The unique feature of this course is that it has a 4 months Summer Internships, offering the students an opportunity to gain hands on experience in the industry.
Eligibility : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Two years post qualification work experience is preferred.
MBA - Services Management : The MBA Focussed program in Services Management is designed specifically to develop the knowledge, skills and perspective required for leaders and senior professionals in service industry.
Eligibility : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Two Years Post qualification work experience is preferred.
MBA - Banking : MBA (Banking) Degree would provide a broad – based articulated platform to the participants of the course in the matter of total dynamics of Commercial, developmental and investment banking as are being practiced today and also those likely to emerge in the medium term of next 5 – 7 years.
Eligibility : 10+2+3 degree in any branch of study or equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU with minimum 50% marks in aggregate at degree level.
Two year post qualification work experience in an Executive/ Management Capacity will be preferred.
PGDBM - Family Business : The objective of the program is to assist family-owned businesses in understanding the changing dynamics of competition as well as organization, brought about by liberalization, privatization and globalization.
Eligibility : A recognised degree, Good Communication Skills, Actual involvement in running of the family business, Total commitment to self improvement.
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year degree course students can also apply.

The NMAT has three Sections. The total of 150 questions are to be attempted in 120 minutes. The test structure is given below.
